My Design Expertise

My Design Expertise as a Piping Design Engineer

  • As a Piping Design Engineer, I played a crucial role in industries like oil & gas, petrochemicals, power plants, water treatment, and pharmaceuticals.
  • They design and develop piping systems that transport fluids and gases efficiently and safely.
  • Their expertise ensures that these systems adhere to technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Piping Design Engineer

My profile as Piping Design Engineer’s job involves multiple tasks, including:

  • Designing Piping Systems:
    • Creating piping layouts, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and isometric drawings.
    • Using CAD software like AutoCAD Plant 3D, E3D
  • Material Selection:
    • Choosing appropriate pipe materials based on temperature, pressure, and corrosion resistance based on project documents like PMS.
    • Adhering to industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API.
  • Stress Analysis and Structural Considerations:
    • Supported stress analysis to ensure the durability of the piping system under different conditions.
    • Using software like CAESAR II or Pipe Flow Expert for stress and flow analysis.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensuring the design meets industry safety standards and regulations.
    • Coordinating with safety engineers to minimize risks.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments:
    • Working with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate piping systems within a project.
    • Coordinating with project managers and procurement teams for material selection and cost estimation.

Skill Set

  • Proficiency in piping design software (E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D)
  • Understanding of international piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ASTM, API, etc.)
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques.
